Making conservation a way of life is a collaborative effort between Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) and our customers.
On CVWD’s rebate portal you will be able to create a rebate account that will allow you to apply for multiple conservation programs. The residential rebate programs currently available are Residential Landscape Rebate and Spray Nozzle Conversion Rebate. We also provide a smart irrigation controller installation at no charge to eligible customers.
Rebates are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and must receive pre-approval before you start your work. No retroactive rebates will be approved. There is no guarantee that funds will be available for an entire program year (July 1- June 30).
Residential Landscape Rebate Program
CVWD is offering a rebate for eligible residential customers who convert spray-irrigated living or dead grass with desert friendly and water-efficient landscaping. Effective July 1, 2017, the Residential Landscape Rebate incentive has increased from $1 to $2 per square feet of turf removed up to a maximum of 10,000 square feet which equates to a maximum of $20,000 for new landscape conversion projects. Artificial turf projects also qualify for rebates. Customers are eligible to apply for additional projects each program year (July 1-June 30). If you previously converted part of your yard, you may reapply for another rebate after July 1, 2017.
Smart Controller Installation
CVWD will install a free smart irrigation controller to help you reduce your water use. The smart controller automatically adjusts your irrigation based on the weather. We will install and program the controller at no charge to you.
Spray Nozzle Conversion Rebate
Not ready to convert your turf to desert landscape? Consider replacing less efficient spray nozzles used for watering lawns to new generation rotating sprinkler nozzles and receive a rebate of $4 per nozzle, maximum of $2,000 for upgrading your system. New generation sprinkler nozzles help eliminate wasteful runoff by applying directed, uniform water distribution to your lawn.
Restrictions apply and program requirements must be met so be sure to read the program and process guidelines and terms and conditions for more information. The program resources, frequently asked questions and study guide sections of this website may also help to get you started with your project.
